RIM doesn’t often release “Service Packs” for the Blackberry Desktop Manager; so we can assume that this one must be of some importance.
Although there isn’t an official change log, I have tried my best to write down a small list of the most noticeable changes for you.
There are a few visual changes to the Blackberry Desktop Manager, including a darker background image, and a new title-bar at the top of the program.
Also, when you plug your device into your computer, the PIN# that is usually displayed in the bottom left hand corner of the BDM now also shows what type of device is connected.
Device Connected (PIN): Blackberry 9530 (1234ABC5)
BDM seems to load modules onto your device faster than before.
As far as the functionality goes, thats about it.
Oh yes, supposedly, you can also configure your computer to connect to your cell carriers internet service, but the icon that allows you to do so has disappeared since the second time I opened the BDM… Anyone else have this problem?
Download it from RIM’s Website Here by selecting the BDM 5.0.0 Service Pack 1 from the product list.
