Fabian Heuwieser is very likely the greatest independent developer of free applications to this day.
ForceRadioOn is another one of those applications that should have been part of the blackberry software. I’m sure we have all had one of those moments where our battery life reaches a critical point and the radio shuts itself off. Most of the time it is when we are right in the middle of something important too. ForceRadioOn will literally force the blackberry to turn the radio feature on so you can drain every last bit of the juice from your poor battery. Very Useful.
ForceRadioOn is just on of the many applications that Fabian has on his website. I’ll review a couple more and then give you link to his site.
The next is an application called bWatchDoggy and can be used for both device protection, and practical jokes. Basically, you launch the app, then set it down and wait for an unsuspecting victim to curiously pick up your blackberry. Thats when the app senses motion and sets off the sound of a ferocious dog barking. The only way to exit the app and stop the barking is to swipe your finger to the right of the screen.
Of course, most people don’t know this so it usually sends them into a panic mode, giving you time to snatch back your berry.
What a wonderful idea for an application – Well done Fabian!
I think you should take Fabian’s advice on this one… Take your blackberry with you into a meeting, switch on the ShaverBerry application, and pretend to shave yourself! See what they do! The majority of this app focuses on mimicking an automatic razor blade. Simply slide your finger left and right to turn it on/off.
But when you consider this app’s overall purpose… It’s practically useless except for wasting memory and maybe conversation starter.
Now, without any further review’s… Here’s the link to Fabian’s Site, Mobile Util
All of the applications mentioned here can be found there for free. And while you’re there, check out some of the other neat apps he has.
